The Clinebell Institute is offering the following Marriage and Relationship workshops this Spring 2010:
Love U2: Relationship Smarts PLUS
Love U2 introduces teens to such topics as maturity, identifying values, peer pressure, attractions and infatuation, building blocks for positive relationships, assessing relationship health, a low-risk relationship strategy, principles of smart relationships, the nature of true intimacy, a realistic concept of love, and breaking up. Also includes date violence prevention and assertiveness skills, communication/conflict skills, identity and future orientation, and a unique approach to pregnancy prevention that educates about the needs of children. This curriculum is chock-full of activities that employ real-world scenarios created with the help of scores of diverse young people. It is an interactive program with very little lecture. Ready for Love
Ready for Love, a class for singles and solos, provides the secrets to building positive relationships and creating lasting love. By the end of the day you'll be on your way to winning people over, learning how to develop intimacy with a significant partner, and forming better communication with your boss, co-workers, family and friends. You'll also learn boundaries for emotional safety and how to problem solve the “sticky situations” of life in such a way that both sides win.
Beginning Thursdays, February 25; 9-11 am at Joslyn Senior Center (660 N. Mountain Avenue; Claremont). Cost: $10 per person for participant manual.
Ready for Love will also be offered beginning Thursdays evenings from 6-8 pm in Upland beginning on February 18, 2010.
